2 Highlights of Phase 2 Companies (Amendment) Act 2014 (Taking Effect on 3 January 2016)


Alternate Address : 


To protect one’ privacy, the Phase 2 Companies (Amendment) Act 2014 (Taking Effect on 3 January 2016) allows a director to show on the company profile an alternate address, at which he/she can be located if they do not wish to disclose their residential address in the company profile.


However, the director must still report to Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA) their residential address which will be kept confidential.

Director’s duty to comply on Annual Return filing :


To promote greater compliance with statutory filing requirement, Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA) will be empowered to debar any director who fails to comply. The debarred person will not be able to take on any new appointment as a director of a company in Singapore.
